Our Sustainability Journey

In the built environment, we have a unique opportunity, and responsibility, to find the solutions to the unique sustainability challenges our industry faces. At Ambient, we find those solutions every day, and are committed to constantly improving the processes and technologies with which we do it.

We believe that environmental responsibility can’t be upheld by just one person, team, or company. Greenhouse gas emissions reduction and climate change mitigation take place up and down the value chain. An industry-wide effort is needed to make substantial progress, and Ambient is committed to leading the effort for our sector.

Whether it be harnessing earth’s power through Geothermal technology, pioneering the launch of highly efficient heat pump systems and EV charging infrastructure, leading the charge toward alternative refrigeration, educating clients and colleagues through peer education, or aggressively tracking and reducing emissions, we are committed to solving some of the country’s largest sustainable building challenges.

Commitment to Sustainable Solutions

Our responsibility is to help our clients reach their energy goals and increase system transparency through cutting-edge technology. We partner with the world’s leading manufacturers to provide sustainable equipment and services that reduce energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, increase indoor air quality, and provide overall comfort in the space.

We proudly promote the sustainable use of HVAC products by utilizing innovative designs and equipping customers with the precise systems for their specific needs. In addition, our national service division’s primary function is to provide expert maintenance and ongoing support for our sustainable solutions throughout the life of the project.

Commitment to Environmental Stewardship

Energy consumption and emissions due to residential and commercial HVAC equipment are significant. As a leader in this field, Ambient has a responsibility to our clients and communities to try and mitigate impact from HVAC as much as possible and to provide comfort, safety, and satisfaction to our clients, partners, and Ambient team members while doing it.

Greenhouse Gass Emissions & Energy Consumption

Ambient is committed to reducing its overall carbon footprint. In alignment with the 2015 Paris Agreement, Ambient has committed to reduce its Scope 1 & 2 Greenhouse Gas emissions from entities included in its 2021 baseline assessment. Since 2021, Ambient’s geographical footprint has more than doubled, and the collective continues to grow. As a result, we will be updating our Science-Based Target to better reflect the company size and type.

Further details on our emissions reduction commitments can be found in our most recent Annual Sustainability Report, which can be found on our website here.

Natural Resources & Biodiversity

We engage with natural resources and our ecological environment every day due to the nature of our business. We support the conservation of water, the preservation and protection of biodiversity, the reduction of pollution, and proper management of raw materials, chemicals, non-hazardous waste, and hazardous waste in our operations and within our supply chain and aim to minimize water usage and waste generation at its physical locations.

Employee Health & Safety

Our interest in the safety, health, and wellbeing of our team members is a founding principle of Ambient. These instincts for protection and collaboration come from our belief in family values. Ambient started as
a family company in the basement
of a residential home, and those family values are woven into the culture of our company. This means treating everyone in the firm, and every client, as if they’re one of our own.

Working conditions as they relate to wages, benefits, working hours, are all described transparently in our Employee Handbook. Customer Health & Safety

Air movement is a primary factor in a person’s wellbeing within a building, whether that be comfort, air quality, noise, or static pressure. HVAC is found in schools, hospitals, residences, workplaces, and every other building that requires a controlled environment. We are committed to prioritizing our customers’ safety and to making sure we are providing them with the highest quality equipment and the expertise to make sure it is operating to design.
